Each year NFID presents awards to outstanding individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the health of society through scientific achievement, public health, philanthropy, or legislation.

Fellowships and Grants
To further its objectives in the areas of research and training, NFID provides support to qualified physicians and scientists dedicated to research in infectious diseases.
The NFID Advanced Vaccinology Course Travel Grants program assists recent postdoctoral (e.g., MD, PhD, DSc) graduates (including sub-specialty fellows) who have a demonstrated interest in a career in vaccinology.
The NFID Traveling Professorship in Rural Areas is funded through the NFID Steven R. Mostow Endowment for Outreach Programs and is intended to provide support for the applicant to provide face-to-face infectious diseases education to practicing physicians in rural areas in the applicant's state of residence or primary practice.
